I am a young at heart grandmother whose granddaughter lives in California, so I don't get to see the joy of my life often. I live in the northwest suburbs of Chicago and the only reason I am signing up is because someone sent me an instant email message and told me to come to this web site. I have been alone a very long time and it would be nice to meet someone to share good times with. I really do prefer to meet the old fashion way, but it seems to be getting more difficult to meet anyone that shares my values and qualities that I am looking for.

I enjoy movies, television, music and bowling even though I am not very good at it. It was a great way of meeting lots of people in the past-including my ex-husband--oh well, you can't win them all. I have a great sense of humor and if the person I am sharing my time with doesn't have one, then forget about it--he will never survive with me. You could say that I am a combination of Lucille Ball and Gracie Allen--if you don't remember who they are, then you are not in my age range that I am interested in.

I would really like to have a romantic relationship with someone. The older I have become, the higher my values are and I wish I knew way back then what I know now, but life isn't like that. People enjoy being around me and I have been told that I make them laugh--at work and outside of work. I am a very loyal, trustful and dependable friend and am looking for someone with similar values. I don't believe it's the quantity of friends one has, but the quality of them. My father once told me that if you have 2 good friends in your life then consider yourself lucky. I have found that to very true--especially after the past 2 years when I have had a lot of tragic things happen to me.

In the summer, I really enjoy going on the boats on the Fox River, Fox Lake and St. Charles. My dream is to go on a cruise one of these days and Las Vegas which I have never been. I am pretty much of a homebody in the winter --I'm like a bear and hibernate until the spring thaw. It's just not fun to go out with coats and glove and boats to the dances. I really don't like the bar scene, but unfortunately, when you are my age there just aren't that many places to meet people and I have tried everything I can think of.

I have pretty high morals and ethics. My daughter even jokes with me now saying that I have gotten a lot more "moralistic" in my older age than I used to be. I'm sure it has a lot to do with my temple and church going. Yes, I am Jewish who also goes to church. However, I have given up on meeting anyone at the church--and I go the one of the largest in the nation. So, I go to hear the sermon and serve in Promiseland which is the ministry to watch the babies during the service. I missed my granddaughter so much I figured that would be a good way to at least be around babies. I also have 2 cats even though I am allergic to them, but when my boys were little they talked me into getting the cats I had. Unfortunately, one of them died the day before Thanksgiving which was very sad. I have since adopted another kitten to keep my surviving cat company. I have said that if I could find a man who is as loving and loyal as my cats, then I would be happy.

Family is very important to me. I have 3 grown children--my daughter and her family live in California and my 2 sons live in the Chicago suburbs near me. I think the main reason I have survived all these years is because my children needed me.

Well, that is pretty much it for now. Like I said, I believe that a person really needs to meet and talk with them in person to see if they really do click. I have only tried this internet thing a few times and have had some really bad results, so like I said at the beginning, if you are not within my age range or geographical area, please do not contact me. I only have a computer at work and not much time, so I am looking for quality in a relationship.
